The Invention Story - How I Created the Roman Blind Integral Return

The Breakthrough Moment - July 2017

After over 30 years in soft furnishings, I was working on a Roman blind project when I had that 'eureka' moment every craftsperson dreams of. I'd identified a persistent problem with traditional Roman blind construction and suddenly saw a completely new solution.

On July 23rd, 2017, I posted the very first image of my integral return technique on Instagram and Facebook - excited to share this breakthrough with fellow professionals. That post marks the official birth of what would become one of the most copied techniques in modern curtain making.

Development and Refinement - 2017-2018

Throughout 2017 and into 2018, I continued developing and perfecting the technique, sharing progress updates and variations on my social media. Each post documented the evolution of what I now call the Roman Blind Integral Return - a method that would revolutionize how professionals approach blind construction.

Going Public - October 17th, 2018

On October 17th, 2018, I uploaded the complete tutorial to YouTube, making it freely available to anyone who wanted to learn. This wasn't just my first YouTube tutorial - it was the moment I decided to share my innovations with the wider curtain-making community.

The Original Tutorial That Started Everything

That first YouTube video remains free to this day because I believe in sharing knowledge within our industry. It's been viewed thousands of times and has inspired countless professionals to improve their craft - though unfortunately, some have chosen to copy rather than credit.
